Gray Gaulding to Compete in first Daytona 500 with BK Racing

Gray Gaulding will pilot the No. 23 Toyota Camry in the 60th Annual Daytona 500 next Sunday. The organization showed up on Friday with a blank canvas with No. 23 stickers and the normal contingency stickers after many speculated that the organization wouldn't show following a rough offseason. The Motorsports News Source learned late Friday Night/early Saturday Morning that a deal had been put in place.

The Daytona 500 will be his 30th career start in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. In 29 starts, Gaulding has secured a career-best finish of ninth at Talladega last season. He has a total of one top-20 finish and seven top-25 finishes. He has one career victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West back in 2015 at Phoenix.

The start will be his first at the Daytona International Speedway in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. He has one start in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Daytona back in 2016 driving for Lira Motorsports, he finished ninth in that event.

Gaulding is the final driver to add his name to the hat after Corey Lajoie was announced as the driver of the No. 72 for TriStar Motorsports. There will be a total of 40 entries in the event meaning all of them will start "The Great American Race" next Sunday.

Sponsorship information for the No. 23 will be announced sometime before next Sunday's Daytona 500. (Koelle,2018)
