Chris Buescher Earns First Top-Five Since Bristol in 2016

Chris Buescher earned his best finish since Bristol in 2016 on Sunday in the Daytona 500. Buescher survived the chaos at the end to finish fifth, the same place he finished in the 2016 Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol. The fifth-place finish was his first since moving to JTG Daugherty Racing following the 2016 season.

“That was a really good day for our Kleenex Camaro ZL1, really proud of this team and all of the effort that they put in to come down here for two weeks,” Buescher told The Motorsports News Source following the Daytona 500. “It’s a lot of work and a lot of time invested and very expensive. So for us to have something to show for it at the end of the day after three years of trying, that’s pretty cool.”

JTG Daugherty Racing added a Hendrick Motorsports affiliation over the off-season. The strong finish at Daytona doesn't only show that move was a success but it was also something to put them into the spotlight. The organization definitely doesn't need to be overlooked this season especially as we get into the heart of the season.

“Again thank you for everyone coming on board including Kroger Click List for really buying into JTG Daugherty Racing and to come into a very large part with what we’re trying to do week in and week out. We had two cars in there who were really in contention for it and to bring both of them home in the top-ten that is a really good start to the season.” (Koelle,2018)
