"Proud to say that I’ll be racing the No. 43 Chevrolet Camaro in 2018! I'm also incredibly excited about our new alliance with Richard Childress Racing. The Petty's and I have had a lot of success with Chevy, including wins in my first ever K&N Pro Series race, and my last truck race!" Wallace stated on Twitter.

At Michigan in 1978, Richard Petty made his Chevrolet debut. From 1978-1981, Petty made 59 starts behind the wheel of a Chevrolet, six of the 200 career victories in the Cup series came with Chevrolet. His organization has run a Chevrolet 16 times, 15 with Kyle Petty and once with his grandson Adam Petty. In the nine years, the organization has been entitled Richard Petty Motorsports though, they have never run Chevrolet. (Koelle,2017)
