When it came to this season, especially in the season finale at Homestead, Cole Custer's biggest competitor was Tyler Reddick. Whenever these two battled on the track it would be simply classic. At Homestead, the result was a first career victory for Custer.

"Tyler has been pretty unbelievable this year," Custer told The Motorsports News Source. "He's definitely -- again, all of them have gotten their cars really good the last second half of the year I feel like, and Tyler has really stepped up to the plate I feel like.  It was fun racing with him."

The two have been battling the last two seasons on the track. Custer and Reddick battled in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last season, Reddick went all the way to the playoffs while Custer just missed. The battle between these two though is just beginning.

"I think, obviously, he's going to be a good team with JR next year, and I think we're going to be even stronger next year, so I think we'll have some good competition."

Custer and Reddick are just two members of NASCAR's next generation of drivers. Throw in Christopher Bell and other XFINITY Series veterans who will return next season, It could be one of the most competitive battles in the series. As noted above, the Custer vs. Reddick rivalry is just beginning and expect it to take the spotlight next season. (Koelle,2017)
