Everything is bigger in Texas, especially re-paves and that is just what the officials at Texas Motor Speedway announced today that they will begin soon. The track in Fort Worth Texas will gain a new racing surface, new french drains to help drain the track easier, along with re-configuring the turns.
The renovation will add a new layer of asphalt over the existing pavement much like the Atlanta Motor Speedway is doing. Unlike the Atlanta Motor Speedway though the banking in turns 1 & 2 will be reduced by four degrees. A new french drain system will be installed on the frontstretch and backstretch which will help the drainage that has plagued the track for many seasons.
The mix that will be going on the track is the same mix that went on the repave that was laid at the Kentucky Speedway in their most recent repave. It's also on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This repave will be completed by the first weekend scheduled at the Texas Motor Speedway which will be on Friday April 7th, 2017 which will be practices for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series along with Qualifying for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500. The Verizon IndyCar Series will accompany the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the Texas Motor Speedway during the June 8th-10th race weekend. Then the final race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway will be a crucial weekend for all three national series with the Chase for the Championship's entering the middle race of the final full round of each races Chase.
