In 2016 Eli Tomac wasn't in the spotlight as much as he was in 2015 but he still was in a respectable position finishing podium three times in a row finishing 2nd at Gillette Stadium and Metlife Stadium and he finished 3rd at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas Nevada. Tomac only gained one victory in 2016 and he seeks to change that in 2017 beginning tonight at Angels Stadium in Anaheim California.
In 2016, Eli finished 4th at both rounds in Anaheim and he seeks to gain that consistency again in 2017 but he looks to finish 3 positions better and he surely seeks to gain the early season holeshot.
Other than in 2016, Eli Tomac has raced in Anaheim in the 450's three other times with his best finish of third coming in Round 5 in 2015. Tomac did win the Monster Energy Cup over the off-season and that momentum is something Tomac will surely seek to continue as the season begins and runs through many different stadiums in the United States. Tomac is still seeking his first championship in the Monster Energy Supercross 450 SX but he will have to challenge the very same riders he competed against in Vegas during the off-season and that is Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen. Tomac had shoulder surgery over the off-season but that won't stop the Cortez Colorado Native. The 2017 Season will be one for the history books and will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat. Tune into the season opening round from Anaheim California starting at 9:30 pm/ET for the Monster Energy Supercross Pre-Race with the coverage of racing starting at 10:00 pm/ET only on Fox Sports 1.
