Liberty University will continue with William Byron along with his car number from last season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Byron will pilot the #9 Liberty University Chevrolet Camaro this season for JR Motorsports.

JR Motorsports announced today that Liberty University will remain with William Byron in his Rookie season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Liberty University will be on the #9 Chevrolet Camaro in 17 of the 33 events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season beginning with Daytona next month. Byron joins Michael Annett, Elliott Sadler, and Justin Allgaier at JR Motorsports in 2017 while the #88 will be fielded in select races with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne.
Also announced is William Byron's crew chief for his rookie season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Dave Elenz will oversee the #9 team moving from a two year stint as the crew chief for JR Motorsports All-Star Car where he gained four victories with Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chase Elliott, and Kevin Harvick. A full schedule for Liberty University Sponsorship will be revealed at a late date. We do know that the remaining races that Liberty isn't the primary sponsor, it will be the associate sponsor.
