2016 was another year of success for Brad Keselowski and Team Penske but when it came to Talladega last October, an engine failure caused Brad to be eliminated from the chase along with Martin Truex Jr. who also had an engine failure at Talladega. That moment ended both driver's shot at the Championship but in 2017 the slate is washed clean for Keselowski.

Keselowski is seeking to have a career just like his championship season in 2012. Keselowski needs to keep consistency this season but keep the attitude he's had in the past few years giving his 100% every single weekend. Keselowski and Logano have company at Ford now in the shape of Stewart Haas Racing with their drivers joining the blue oval bunch. Together Stewart Haas Racing, Team Penske, Front Row Motorsports, Go Fas Racing, Roush Fenway Racing, Richard Petty Motorsports, and The Wood Brothers will all have to team up to defeat Chevrolet and Toyota for the Manufacturers Championship and with a lineup that has a combined three championships it is possible. Keselowski could be a crucial part to the equation that equals a Ford Manufactures Championship.

Fans cheered the moment Brad Keselowski blew his engine at Talladega last season but the fans opinion of him never really seemed to phase him and I don't expect it to change this season. Without a doubt to the fans, Brad and his teammate Joey Logano are the most hated drivers in NASCAR but without a doubt you can't overlook these drivers when it comes to a successful season. Both have had very good seasons the last few years and I don't expect 2017 to be any different and I expect one of the two if not both will be in the hunt for the Championship come Homestead. Brad has a level talent field when it comes to the different types of tracks on the Cup Series Circuit. A victory early in the season takes the stress off late in the season when something goes wrong and that is something Keselowski has been able to capitalize every year of the elimination chase format winning at Las Vegas in 2014 and last season and in 2015, Keselowski went to victory lane at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana California.
The ultimate early victory to Keselowski has to be the Daytona 500, which is a victory that has eluded him over his career. Keselowski was able to gain his first victory at the World Center of Racing last season when he won the Coke Zero 400 but in 17 tries, Keselowski has a best finish of 3rd back in 2014. With a victory in the season opening race, to most drivers would be an excuse to try different things over the remainder of the regular season but with his "I Just Want to Win" attitude, He will continue to give his 100% the whole regular season and that is something that many of Keselowski's fans will tell you they like about him.
Whether he wins the Daytona 500 next month, Keselowski will still be a threat for the title if not the Champion next season. I would definitely keep and eye of the #2 Car. (Koelle,2017)
