Chastain Will Return to JD Motorsports in 2017

JD Motorsports has revealed that Ross Chastain will return to the team for a third straight season while the team also works diligently to have Garrett Smithley return for a sophomore season while Ryan Preece will return to the Whelen Modified Series full-time.
Chastain finished 16th in NASCAR Xfinity Series points while Smithley gained a 18th place finish in points.
Chastain gained the team 17 Top-20 finishes with a best finish of 11th coming at Daytona in July.
Smithley gained the team 8 Top-20 finishes with a best finish of 12th coming at Talladega.
With Preece leaving for the Whelen Modified Series it leaves a vacancy in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with many great drivers without rides in 2017, JD Motorsports could be even more competitive. (Koelle,2016)
