NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France announced on Thursday that Monster Energy will be the Entitlement sponsor for the NASCAR Premier Series. Monster Energy has signed a multi-year deal with the Motorsports Giant that will begin in 2017 with the 59th Daytona 500 being the first race of the Monster Energy Era.
Monster Energy has led many entitlement sponsorship's including in the Monster Energy Supercross. I will have an article up this afternoon describing what I personally feel about the partnership between Monster Energy and NASCAR. Monster Energy drink has revealed that current energy drink sponsorships like 5-Hour Energy (Erik Jones) , Tweaker Energy Shots (Cole Whitt), etc. will be allowed to remain in the sport as seeking energy sponsorship's will not be allowed to enter the sport in 2017 and beyond as long as Monster is the entitlement sponsor. Monster has many ideas toward the future that could help save the sport we know as NASCAR. It will be the first time Monster Energy Drink has taken an entitlement sponsorship within the ranks of NASCAR. Monster sponsored Kurt Busch in 2016 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series while Monster sponsored Kyle Busch's #54 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series from 2013-2015. Monster is going to fill in an important void left by Sprint who left the sport following the 2016 Season. (Koelle,2016)
