Texas was only one of three tracks that Blake Koch didn't complete the race at earlier in the season with transmission issues plaguing them at New Hampshire and a Crash at Watkins Glen. At Texas earlier in the season Koch wrecked the #11 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet Camaro and he finished 34th. Yesterday Koch came and did exactly what he needed to do and that was have a consistent day.
Koch started the race from 12th place and worked his way up through the race keeping his eye on the ultimate prize which would ultimately be a shot at the Xfinity Series Championship at Homestead here in two weeks. Koch brought the #11 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet Camaro home in the 14th position, his 20th Top-15 finish of the 2016 Season. Koch currently sits +1 in the 4th postion on the Chase Grid and all he has to do is stay consistent and possibly finish ahead of the #7 of Justin Allgaier next Saturday in Phoenix and he will compete for his first 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship.
