Symptoms of Pneumonia and Strep Throat couldn't keep the Glendale Arizona native from racing in Sunday's Goody's Fast Relief 500 at the Martinsville nor could it stop him the previous weekend at Talladega.

McDowell is one of those drivers who aren't so sure of their futures and well when you are in that situation you won't step out of the car and that is just what Michael McDowell did. McDowell has been on a hot streak as of late but if you really want to sum it up, McDowell has had a very good 2016. But in this sport very good and very rich are two different things and they are factors into what could be the continuation of McDowell's career.
McDowell has been racing just like his career is on the line and it's definitely is showing by his results this season. McDowell kinda started a slow climb this weekend not showing very much speed in qualifying but it was the race when McDowell started to pick up the pace. McDowell was one of the drivers who I feel wasn't placed in the right position following that running order fiasco. McDowell stayed consistent in that final run to bring home an 18th place finish. That would be McDowell's 9th Top-20 finish of 2016 and his 2nd straight Top-20 finish. McDowell enters Texas this weekend, a Preview will be up tomorrow. (Koelle,2016)
