Tommy has raced at the Texas Motor Speedway one other time than tonight and that was earlier this season in June with the Verizon Indy Car Series. Martins qualified 24th and brought home the #44 in the 25th place finish, roughly where Martins has placed the #44 a majority of the 2016 Season. With the season coming to a close Martins is another one of those drivers who 2017 is unknown to us.
This season Martins has been one of the Top finishing Underfunded teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Martins has competed in 18 of the 20 events so far in 2016 with Martinsville being the only race he didn't start where he changed numbers with Austin Wayne Self. Like Jordan Anderson, Martins gained his best career finish this season but at Michigan instead of Gateway. Martins finished 15th then a few weeks ago at Talladega, Martins almost beat that number but he'd cross the finish line as many trucks shuffled to gain everything possible and he missed tying his best career finish by one spot. Martins finished 16th at Talladega. Last weekend at Martinsville, Martins finished 25th after starting 25th. (Koelle,2016)
