Though the Chase Grid doesn't really matter now unless Qualifying gets rained out on Friday Night, Joey Logano is seeded first on the Chase Grid and this season has been a very unusual one. In the past few years dominance has continued from Daytona all the way to Homestead but this season. Joey's first win came at Michigan back in June in the Fire Keepers 400 from the pole position. Once the Chase arrived, Logano and his team arrived also having a consistent first round. Then in Round Two, Logano had an alright round but he entered Talladega in a corner and Logano did what he needed to do and take the victory and the fast lane to the next round like he did in 2015. Logano then capitalized on Rival Matt Kenseth's crash in the end to snag his third victory of the 2016 and punch his ticket to Homestead.

Chasing History on Sunday will be Jimmie Johnson who will be chasing his Seventh Career Championship that would tie him with NASCAR Legends Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty. Johnson has had a pretty good track record this season gaining his first victory way back in February at Atlanta then 3 weeks later at home in Fontana. Johnson then arrived in the Chase where he hadn't had much success since the new format was implemented but Johnson made it past Dover, where he was eliminated last season and then won at Charlotte in the second round to make it past where he was eliminated in 2014. Then Johnson took yet another victory at Martinsville to punch his ticket to Homestead and compete for SE7EN. If Johnson can pull his former Championship Success at Homestead that he has had in the past then on Sunday History will be made.

Carl Edwards

Carl Edwards has had a very consistent season in his sophomore season at Joe Gibbs Racing which means no Sophomore season slump here for Edwards. Edwards will be competing for the Championship for the 4th time with his best finish in points of second has came in two different ways. In 2008, Edwards was a long points margin off of Jimmie Johnson and ended up finishing second to Jimmie Johnson who would win his third straight Championship. The second time featured Tony Stewart and it was a dead tie between Edwards and Stewart and Stewart won the tie breaker. This time Edwards has a shot to compete for the Championship and has a level points place. Edwards also doesn't have to worry about ties either because unless there is a four wide finish at the line one driver will win and 3 will loose.

Kyle Busch

The defending NASCAR Champion will look to gain back to back titles and be the first repeat champion in the new Chase Format. Kyle Busch hasn't had the greatest season but has had the consistency to land him in the Championship Four. Kyle Busch took the blame for taking his teammate out last weekend at Phoenix when an unnecessary move made the race entertaining. Kyle Busch is looking to gain his 5th victory of 2016 which would tie his amount of wins from last season. Busch started the season off with a pole at Phoenix and his first victory came at Martinsville and then at Texas. Kyle Busch made his win less tracks list shorter with a victory at Kansas which leaves Charlotte and Pocono the only two tracks he's never won at. Kyle's last victory this season came at Indianapolis in his second straight Brickyard 400 Victory. Busch has only finished outside the Top-10 once in the Chase which was at Talladega where the team didn't have to make any unnecessary risks and was able to ride in the back.
