The underdog was able to rise again today in Charlotte as Josh Wise was able to survive numerous wrecks and engine failures that happened in front of him as he brought the #30 Chevrolet SS home in the 29th position. This was his best finish since Darlington in September where he also finished 29th. His seventh Top-30 finish of 2016.

Josh Wise started the race in 40th and was able to dodge and weave numerous issues and keep all four fenders intact. Wise had a tight battle with the Premium Motorsports Cars, the #98 of Cole Whitt and the #55 of Reed Sorenson, in the starting segments of the race but throughout the remainder of the race, Wise was really in a strategy race on his own needing to keep the car off the wall and just start ticking off laps. Wise was in the same area as Denny Hamlin as his engine expired toward the end of the race but was able to avoid the dangers of oil on the track. As the laps wound down, Wise just started turning laps waiting for the Checkered flag to fall. As the flag fell a 29th place finish would be the reward at the end of the tunnel for Wise.
With his performance in the Bank of America 500, Josh Wise has been awarded the 3M Hard Charger Award which gains the team an extra $10,000 on top of what the team made in the earnings for finishing 29th. That award is awarded to the eligible team who improves the most cumulative positions from starting position to finishing position in each segment of designated events. This helps this low budget team as they head into the final 6 races of the 2016 Season. Now the #30 Team heads to Kansas, A Preview for that race will be up on Wednesday! (Koelle,2016)
