Successful Season for Finchum in K&N Series

Despite gaining more wins no driver other than Chad Finchum can say they gave Hal Martin and Eric McClure their first victory in the NASCAR K&N Series and winning at your home track is one special thing to say you've done in your career especially in NASCAR.
Making his season debut at Bristol Motor Speedway in April, the Knoxville, TN native was slated to run four races for Martin McClure Motorsports and when it came to Bristol, it set the pace for what would come for Chad Finchum in 2016. Prior to his win at Bristol, Chad had made 12 starts in the NASCAR K&N Series finishing 7th three times. That day in Bristol Tennessee was his day and it would land The Hometown Kid in Victory Lane.
Loudon came and the #39 had gained another victory with Austin Cindric and Finchum would look at another short track to show those in attendance and those looking for a driver in 2017 how he raced. Not the same result as Bristol but a Top-15 finish came.
Entering Iowa for the second time in his career, Finchum hoped to put the same stat as he put on his second start at the Bristol Motor Speedway but a suspension failure ended that with just 27 laps to go. Finchum would finish 17th, with his eyes set on his final performance of 2016 at The Monster Mile in Dover Delaware.
If you didn't know Chad Finchum could wheel a race car before Dover, Dover was just what you needed to watch. Finchum had to move to the rear and worked his way up into the Top-5 as the laps wound down. On the last lap in Dover, Finchum went to avoid a wreck that was in front of him. The only issue was that where Finchum went was also where Ali Kern went placing Finchum 14th.
In a season filled with ups and downs, Finchum ultimately proved his worth and proved that he deserves to be in NASCAR especially with his victory at the Worlds Fastest Half Mile. (Koelle,2016)
