Tommy Joe Martins will enter the Talladega Superspeedway for the second time of his NASCAR Career and the first time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Martins has had a pretty good year being one of the top underdogs every week with Jordan Anderson. He has an average start of 25th and an average finishing position being 24th. Martins has also gained his best career start and finish with his best start coming at Kansas where he started 19th. Martins best finish came at Michigan where he finished 15th. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Martins has only raced at one other Superspeedway once in his career coming at Daytona earlier this season where he finished 32nd after an incident ended his night after only 11 laps.
Martins sole start at Talladega came in 2014 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series where he finished 14th after starting 29th. Martins will look at that and the fact of the level playing field to hopefully play into his hands and have a successful afternoon in Talladega Alabama with the #44 still in one piece. (Koelle,2016)
