Blake Koch was able to survive round one and remain in the Unexpected Spotlight by finishing 12th today in the Drive for The Cure 300 presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
Blake Koch was able to remain in the Top 8 by just three points. Blake stayed around the Top-15 all day and raced the cars he needed to race to remain in what we have called the "Unexpected Spotlight". After starting sixth, Blake Koch was able to just stay consistent not making any unnecessary risks to send the #11 LeafFilter Chevrolet Camaro into the round of eight to compete with some of the biggest teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, JR Motorsports, Roush Fenway Racing, and Richard Childress Racing. Along with moving onto the next round, Blake was able to break his best finish at Charlotte by finishing 12th. His previous best was a 14th in May.
Now Koch will look to making another statement and possibly pulling his first career victory in this final stretch of the Season while remaining in the "Unexpected Spotlight". (Koelle,2016)
