How to Change Up the Chase Schedule

"The Challenger Round"

New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Rainier Ehrhardt/NASCAR
New Hampshire needs to return to the first race of the Chase as it has in the past and with that it would make it easier for NASCAR to promote the Chase in the New York region. It provides some great racing and it's not one of those tracks like Talladega where danger is always going to be expected. Many of today's drivers enjoy New Hampshire and it provides that little kicker that starts the chase. I vote New Hampshire gains this race while Chicagoland gets completely removed from the Chase and moved back to July with a night race. Also have this be the first race of the Chase for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Watkins Glen International Raceway

Jeff Zelevansky/NASCAR
The fans are begging for a Road Course in the Chase and I think Watkins Glen is just the way to do that. Yes we are taking it away from August but replacing it with Road America so fans can have three Road Course races in a season. I like Watkins Glen and so do the fans, there is a reason why it sells out and I think if you added the excitement of the Chase to a Road Course you could see more action and who knows what else. Joining the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will also be the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. It would add excitement to the already exciting lower series races.

Bristol Motor Speedway

Rainier Ehrhardt/NASCAR
The Night Race at Bristol Moves to the Chase and as the first Elimination race. I love Dover but Dover has been in the Chase since the Chase began way back in 2004 and that is something that has kinda fallen off and needs work. I think if you want to save Dover your gonna need lights but enough about Dover. Bristol already adds excitement to the NASCAR Season and it has had many moments of anger. Those moments could get some company if you moved the Night Race to the Elimination Race of the Chase. Add the Elimination Races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series along with the Championship Crowning race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. Also on the Thursday, add the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

"The Contender Round"

Talladega Superspeedway

NASCAR
Moving Talladega from the Elimination race to the Second race doesn't make sense but yet it still irritates the fans because it shouldn't be in the Chase. Well in my opinion, you need a Superspeedway to crown a champion and Talladega is about our only option because fans would go awol if we moved Daytona from July and I highly doubt we ever see Nashville Superspeedway Return. Talladega could open Round two of the Chase replacing Kansas which gets scaled back to one race a season in may. I believe the NASCAR Xfinity Series doesn't take a break either. Add ARCA to the lineup to make it more exciting.

Charlotte Motor Speedway

Jared C. Tilton/NASCAR
I really like where Charlotte was in 2014. True the Weather hasn't been very good there lately but it's not in our hands. I think Charlotte adds a little bit of a Home track feel for drivers to have a little more than just the Chase to go for. I think the Trucks should get the chance to race at Home in the Chase and I think the only way you could do that is to swap and put the Truck Race at Charlotte in October instead of in May where I think a track like Memphis rejoins the series. Also I think the kids should have a chance to race and I mean the K&N Pro Series should have like an All Star Race between the East and West. I also believe the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series Season Finale should remain in Charlotte.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Jonathan Moore/NASCAR
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has raced at Las Vegas alone now for years and I think its time they gain some companions. I think a Saturday Night Race at Las Vegas for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is just what the doctor ordered for the Chase. I think it also needs to be the elimination race in the Chase also. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series would also be joined by the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, and NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series. It would make things way better and would get Las Vegas that all important second race the fans have been begging for for years.

"The Eliminator Round"

Phoenix International Raceway

Jonathan Ferrey/NASCAR
Phoenix remains in the Eliminator round it just gets moved to the first race instead of the final. I believe that Phoenix is a great race track to start putting people in the final round of the Chase and with that being said I think Phoenix's second race needs to be moved to the night time. I don't know how three straight Saturday Night Races would go for the fans but I think it could add excitement and it would get drivers ready to head to Homestead where they race under the lights during the second half of the race. I believe the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series remains while the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Crowns it's Champions.

Martinsville Speedway

Sean Gardner/NASCAR
I think that Martinsville should be the final Short Track race of the Season. I believe Martinsville should be the second race of the Eliminator Round instead of the first because instead of going to Martinsville from Las Vegas back to Phoenix, we should do a mild West Coast Swing and then head North to South landing where we will have the final race of the season. The NASCAR Xfinity Series should race at Martinsville in the Chase because they only have one Short track they race at otherwise and it would give the fans something new to look forward to.

Atlanta Motor Speedway

Matt Sullivan/NASCAR
Atlanta needs something to spark interest in it because otherwise the old track will become just like North Wilkesboro, Rockingham Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, among many others and I don't want that to happen. Move Atlanta's sole race to November where it used to be and make it the final Elimination race. It would make Atlanta Relevant again and add the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Elimination Races to it along with the Triumphant return of the ARCA Racing Series to the Atlanta Motor Speedway! Crown the Champion in Atlanta for ARCA.

Championship Four in Homestead

Homestead Miami Speedway

Jonathan Ferrey/NASCAR
Ending the season at Homestead is so smart to do and I don't think that needs to change. If any track gets switched with Homestead I feel Atlanta should get it but I don't think Homestead should get switched anyway. I think it's best for buisness and I like having all three Championship races at the same time is smart and is something the attending fan can enjoy. It's also one of the most exciting tracks on the circuit. End the season at Homestead. Don't change that. What's not broken doesn't need to be fixed.
