Derrike Cope and his team will look to be on the ride down of a Roller Coaster season Sunday when Derrike Cope makes his 279th start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Derrike Cope will start Sunday's race in 31st place. Derrike has raced at Charlotte in the NASCAR Xfinity Series 16 times over his career with Sunday's race being his 17th. Derrike's best start came in 1994 where he started 3rd. His best finish came in 1996 where he finished 11th. Derrike Cope has also raced at Charlotte in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 28 times over his career with his best finish of 6th coming in 1989. His best stat came in 1998 where he won the pole.
As I said earlier in the article, Derrike has had a roller coaster year with his best finish coming at Darlington where he finished 25th. Derrike's best start so far this season came at Chicago a few weeks ago where he started 30th. Derrike and his team have certainly had the never give up attitude and that is what has led them to this point of the season and certainly are trying out for potential 2017 Sponsors.
Speaking of Sponsors this weekend J Peters Grill and Bar, E-hydrate, Uptown Catering, and Ice-Frost will be on board of the #70 Chevrolet Camaro this weekend. (Koelle,2016)
