Another driver who just missed the Chase is Ross Chastain and you can't say it's not because they aren't trying. Ross Chastain and his JD Motorsports team have been pumping out good finishes this season and the weeks they aren't having good finishes it's out of their hands. Whether it be a crash at Loudon, Bristol, or Darlington or it be a faulty fuel pump at New Hampshire a few weeks ago.
This weekend at Dover was just what the team needed for a little kickstart. Ross started the race in a season best 11th place and worked his way around the Top-15 and only fall one spot when the checkered flag fell finishing 12th. Chastain now heads to Charlotte where he finished 17th at in May. (Koelle,2016)
