Despite a crash at Charlotte, Allmendinger looks to continue his momentum from a fourth place finish at Watkins Glen in August as he has the last few weeks. Since that race Allmendinger has finished inside the Top-20 8 out of the last 11 races which for this team is a very impressive stat. Allmendinger finished 10th last weekend at a track he said he hated back in May, Talladega.
Allmendinger enters Martinsville for the 17th time of his career. Allmendinger has finished 2nd twice there most recently in April. Allmendinger also finished 2nd at Martinsville in 2012 with Team Penske. His best start at Martinsville came last November where he started 3rd. Allmendinger has season and track momentum on his side and that could be a combination that could be unbeatable for the other 39 drivers in the field. Allmendinger could play Chase spoiler in the first race of the 3rd Round.
Kroger and Clorox Bleach returns to the #47 Chevrolet SS this weekend as Allmendinger looks to Clean the competition up and take home that Grandfather Clock for JTG Daugherty Racing. (Koelle,2016)
