Tire Issues Plague McDowell Again at New Hampshire; Still Solid Finish

Circle Sport - Leavine Family Racing Facebook Page
Two straight weeks of tire issues have plagued the #95 of Michael McDowell. This weekend after making contact with Clint Bowyer, Michael had a tire rub that eventually turned into a flat tire that brought out the caution. McDowell fell back into 31st at one time but with the determination McDowell has and the cautions at the end helped McDowell basically gain back all of the track position he lost since the spin he had. McDowell brought the sweet looking #95 Rat Rod Chevrolet SS home in the 26th position. McDowell's second 26th place finish of 2016. It was McDowell's 12th 26th or better finish of 2016 and his Track Best finish at the Magic Mile. McDowell will now take his final off weekend of the 2016 Season as Ty Dillon takes the reigns next weekend in Dover with Death Wish Coffee. McDowell will then race the #95 at Charlotte all the way to Homestead entering some of his best tracks. McDowell moved up to 32nd in points. McDowell's average finish is now 26th and average start is 29th. These numbers could all drop and McDowell could get his best career points finish. (Koelle,2016)
