Harvick Capitalizes to Gain The Lobstah at New Hampshire

After running out of fuel last season and being 'disgusted' with a Top-5 in July, Kevin Harvick landed in victory lane beating Matt Kenseth on the final restart. Matt Kenseth finished second after leading 105 of the races 300 laps. Kyle Busch seemed to have the fastest car but those final restarts surely didn't help his case. Brad Keselowski overcame a bad scenario early in the race almost landing a lap down early but his team didn't give up and it landed him with a Top-5 finish and pretty solid heading into next weekend's race at Dover. Kurt Busch rounded out the Top-5. According to the XFINITY X1 App there were 539 quality passes, with 6 cautions and just one driver landing a DNF.

The Chase Going into Dover

Things will get interesting as we head to The Monster Mile in Dover Delaware. With Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. into the next round with a victories and one person has the possibility to make the next round on a win. Drivers like Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch need to just have a consistent day. Tony Stewart and Chris Buescher are basically in a must win situation going into Dover while Austin Dillon and Jamie McMurray need someone above them to have a bad day. It will be interesting and I have a feeling only two of the drivers currently out, will be the ones eliminated.

During the first green flag pit stops, Brad Keselowski and Paul Wolfe did their signature gambling to try and make it a fuel mileage race. That plan began to sour as time went on and Brad almost found himself down a lap. A few good timed cautions landed Brad Keselowski back on the lead lap and back in contention to take the victory at New Hampshire. In the end there were a few cases where if the leaders had taken each other out, Brad would have been in good hands and probably would have had Lobstah for dinner tonight. Brad Keselowski finished 4th  and now sits +35 points on the Chase Grid heading into Dover. Congratulations to Brad on becoming this weekend's Driver of The Week!

The Next Race for The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

The Monster is waiting for 16 drivers to enter the Dover International Raceway next weekend in the Citizen Soldier 400. It's the first elimination race of 2016 and with some surprises in the seat to be eliminated. Jamie McMurray and Austin Dillon just need to have a consistent afternoon next weekend while Tony Stewart and Chris Buescher basically need to win to advance. The two drivers who aren't concerned include Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick.
