In a day filled with ups and downs for Michael McDowell, McDowell ended his 200th race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on a high note. McDowell was able to bring home his best Watkins Glen finish of his career. McDowell started a season best 11th and was able to dodge numerous wrecks including in a place where Michael had a huge crash in 2014 at the exit of the carousel. McDowell dodged wrecks and survived to finish 17th, his third best finish of 2016. McDowell has had an impressive showing in his first 200 starts and is looking to finally get in the right direction. McDowell heads to Bristol, the track where it all began with Thrivent Financial. (Koelle,2016)
