Ending a 99- Race winless streak for Chip Ganassi Racing and a career long winless streak for himself, Kyle Larson grabbed his first career victory at Michigan. Kyle Larson was able to capitalize on another Rookie mistake by Chase Elliott to become the 13th different winner in 2016 and spoil some chase hopes for certain people for at least this week. Chase Elliott finished second, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, and Kevin Harvick rounded out the Top-5. This weekend was surrounded with first time winners with Brett Moffitt and Michael McDowell gaining their first victory of their careers and today Kyle Larson gains his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Kyle Larson in his 99th start was able to have a basic flawless race to snag his first career victory at Michigan today. Larson finally is able to take a victory and land himself in the chase leaving only 3 spots left to drivers trying to make it on points. With two races to go, Larson doesn't have to worry as much as if he hadn't gained a victory today. Larson was able to have great pit stops and good restarts to land himself into the Chase. Congratulations to Kyle Larson becoming the newest Motorsports News Source NASCAR Driver of The Week and congratulations on the victory today in Darlington!
