Harvick Snaps 18 Race Winless Streak at Bristol

For the first time since March of 2005, Kevin Harvick took his Chevrolet to victory lane in Thunder Valley. For the first time in the history of Stewart Haas Racing, they take a car to victory lane at Bristol Motor Speedway. He was able to break away from Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to win his first race since Phoenix earlier this season. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. brought home his second career 2nd place finish at Bristol, Denny Hamlin finished 3rd, Austin Dillon fourth, and Chris Buescher finished 5th, rounding out the Top 5. Kyle Busch led tons of laps tonight but ended up having something break on his #18 M&M's 75th Anniversary Toyota Camry.

Motorsports News Source NASCAR Driver Of The Week

Kevin Harvick was able to overtake Kyle Busch shortly before Kyle began having his issues and it's like Kevin Harvick never looked back at the other 39 drivers. Harvick was able to survive a few accidents that took place in front of him along with the occasional rain showers we seemed to never get away from all week long in Bristol. In our opinion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. came in second also in the Driver of The Week standings, and Denny Hamlin third. Both of them were able to overcome speeding penalties but Kevin Harvick managed to hold off hard charges and a few incidents and that is why he is this weekends Motorsports News Source NASCAR Driver of The Week this weekend for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race from Bristol Motor Speedway.

Next Race for The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Michigan for some good ole' fashioned Pure Racing in the Pure Michigan 400 at the Michigan International Speedway. Joey Logano won here in June, while Chase Elliott had a very good race and is expected to do the same this time around and it could be the site of Elliott's first career victory. Also there's a possibility that Dale Earnhardt Jr. could return next weekend and if he doesn't no more Jeff Gordon but Alex Bowman will be behind the wheel of the #88, If Jr. isn't medically cleared to race.
