Denny Hamlin was able to dodge a few bullets at the end of the race to take his first career road course victory in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Leading only 10 laps en route to victory Hamlin dodged complete chaos between Keselowski making contact with Truex Jr. along with Allmendinger and Larson. Joey Logano, with damage was able to come home 2nd, Brad Keselowski finished 3rd, 4th was AJ Allmendinger, and 5th was Tony Stewart. Chris Buescher who is just 3 points out of the Top-30. All of these drivers approach an off weekend, the final last weekend of the season which gives drivers a chance to see what they will need to do to be in good hands in the final 4 races of the regular season.

Denny Hamlin was able to battle with numerous thing throughout the 90 lap race at Watkins Glen today and with battling with Back spasms. Denny Hamlin noted in victory lane celebration that he has them every now and then and this was on of those times. Denny was thinking he'd have to hand off to Erik Jones like he had to do at Bristol in the spring of 2015 but was able to hold off the uncomfortable surroundings to gain his first career victory on a road course. Congratulations to Denny Hamlin not only on his win but also becoming the newest Motorsports News Source NASCAR Driver of The Week!
