Gordon Will Not Race Michigan; Alex Bowman Will Drive if Needed

Due to previous obligations Jeff Gordon will not be filling in for Dale Earnhardt Jr. if needed next weekend at Michigan.
It was announced early this evening that Jeff Gordon already had previous obligations. If Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still not medically cleared to race, Alex Bowman will drive the #88 next weekend at Michigan. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has missed a total of 4 races with Saturday Night being #5. Jr has been very good at Michigan in the past but time is running out for Jr to make the chase, Jr. is still in the Top-30 by 9 spots on the standings.
