McDowell entered the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 7th time in his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and 7th time was the charm. McDowell dodged the bullet numerous times toward the end of the race including missing two wrecks and was able to land the #95 Thrivent Financial Chevrolet SS in 23rd a track best finish for McDowell and his . McDowell was also able to land his track best qualifying effort of 27th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. McDowell will return to the Pocono Raceway for the first time since 2013 where he raced for Phil Parsons racing where he started 27th and finished 40th. McDowell's best finish at Pocono came in 2012 where he finished 34th. McDowell will look to grab yet another Track Best finish for his Circle Sport Leavine Family Racing team. McDowell will also have a familiar sponsor on board with Malwarebytes jumping on board for the second race of the season. (Koelle,2016)
