Kevin Harvick has surely earned another nickname this season becoming the Rain Man with Qualifying. A pole at Richmond and Dover due to Qualifying Being Rained out, Harvick gained another pole at Kentucky the same way as the previous two poles. The field was set using the newish rule that if Qualifying was rained out, it would be set by Owners Points from 2016. This put Kevin Harvick on the pole and Brad Keselowski on the Outside Pole. Kurt Busch was slated to start 3rd but will move to a backup car after a practice crash and will move to the rear of the field allowing Joey Logano to start 3rd. Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch will round out the Top 5 starting spots.
