In a race filled with wild wrecks, side-by-side racing, and ended with controversy, Ryan Sieg managed to stay up front when it counted. Ryan Sieg qualified in the 30th position but that was no implication on how Ryan Sieg would race.
Ryan Sieg would race like a chase spot was on the line and that was just what was on the line. A spot in the first Xfinity Series Chase for the driver from Tucker Georgia was on the line at Daytona as he continues to stay in the Top 12. With 7 laps to go Ryan Sieg sat 8th in single file behind leader David Ragan. With 4 laps to go a caution came out and Ryan sat in 7th. NASCAR overtime would come and it would be a tighten your seatbelt moment for the driver of the #39 TCL Chevrolet Camaro. At the restart Ryan would push Aric Almirola and Justin Allgaier. Then Sieg took it 3 wide at the exit of turn 4. Sieg would leave David Ragan to dry and would move into 3rd, missing the carnage. As the drivers entered the final stretch their was still no caution and Sieg still had a chance. Then the caution came out and Sieg was just inches ahead of Joey Logano. Sieg would finish 3rd, matching his best career finish from the July Daytona Race in 2014. A victory for this small team by just finishing 3rd. Ryan Sieg sits 11th in points and is on the road of making the Chase! Congrats to Ryan on his Siegsational Finish at Daytona. (Koelle,2016)
