Hornish Jr. Looks to Past Iowa Success

This weekend Sam Hornish Jr. will get to pilot a NASCAR Xfinity Series car a little more earlier than planned. Due to some back issues Matt Tift will not be racing the #18 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing but instead Sam Hornish Jr. will make his first NASCAR start since November of 2015. Sam will not only be coming to a track he has had much success and experience at and that is Iowa Speedway in Newton Iowa.
Hornish has combined down the road to victory lane at Iowa before and he's harvested great finishes in many different types of race cars at Iowa. Hornish has raced at Iowa a combined total of 7 times over his career in both NASCAR and IndyCar. Sam has one victory at Iowa Speedway and ironically it's the same team he will be driving for this weekend.
Sam Hornish Jr. is scheduled to race the #2 for Richard Childress Racing at Iowa in July and at Kentucky in September. Sam Hornish is still looking to solidify his ride for 2017 and trust me he will be working as hard as he can to get a ride in 2017 rather it be in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series or NASCAR Xfinity Series.
