Blake Koch Survives Spin to Finish in Top-15

In a race filled with ups and down for Kaulig Racing and Blake Koch, A 13th place finish would be what would come out of the cornfield.
Blake started the American Ethanol E15 250 in the 19th spot and worked his way up through the field. On lap 136, Brendan Gaughan got into the corner of Blake and it sent Blake spinning into the infield grass. With minimal damage Blake brought the #11 LeafFilter Chevrolet Camaro to Chris Rice and his pit crew to get four fresh goodyear tires and to top off the car with some Sunoco fuel. As the race restarted Blake was set on making ground back from where he was. Blake fought with numerous drivers over the course of the rest of the race and was able to pull a 13th place finish. It would be Blake Koch's 2nd straight 13th place finish and his 5th straight Top-15 finish of the 2016 Season.
With Blake Koch's move to Kaulig Racing at the begining of the Season, Blake is becoming a sure threat for a win very soon. Blake Koch today improved his stats at Iowa by finishing 19th. Koch's previous best finish at Iowa was a 21st driving for MacDonald Motorsports in 2011.
The next race for Kaulig Racing will be The Subway Firecracker 250 at the Daytona International Speedway. Kaulig Racing will have come a long way from the Daytona race in February. Improvement will be evident in this #11 team and will certainly be looked at as a contender with Celsius Drink on Board. (Koelle,2016)
