McDowell Continues to Improve in 2016

At the begining of the season many people said that time would tell for Michael McDowell and his Circle Sport Leavine Family Racing team. Time has told people that McDowell is improving in his Chevrolet, and with the support of K-Love, Thrivent Financial, and WRL Contractors he has improved over his last season marks. At Daytona in 2015, McDowell finished 31st, in 2016 McDowell finished 15th. The following weekends were moderate but slow improvement as McDowell clocked a 33rd, 29th, 26th, and 31st. As time rolled to the place where you can win a clock, Time was on McDowell's side the whole weekend as he practiced some of the best speeds he had done all year. It showed improvement as the team qualified a season best 27th. As the race started McDowell stayed a consistent 24th through the whole race as he fell at the most 2 laps down. McDowell survived numerous incidents that occured in the back and pit only a few times while taking the wave around a few times hoping to make improvements in positions. McDowell elected to take the wave around during the last
caution period which landed the #95 in the 24th position in the final run to the finish. McDowell would hold his own on old tires and manage to come home in the 24th position, the second best finish for McDowell. Ty Dillon takes over the #95 this weekend in Texas but the improvement team of McDowell will return at one of his best tracks. Bristol. McDowell has stayed consistent at the Worlds Fastest Half Mile, Also Richmond, Then the #95 team comes to Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, AL. It's looking like McDowell will make his case for a full time ride in 2017 and is certainly showing what he has to bring to the table! (Koelle,2016)
