McClure and Martin Join Forces

On Wednesday McClure announced he is teaming with fellow former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Hal Martin, as well as iconic Abingdon race team owners Charlie and Don Henderson, to launch a part-time, two-team effort in the K&N East series in 2016. The new team is called Martin-McClure Racing and will field 2 entries in the NASCAR K&N East Series. Beginning this weekend at Bristol, the No. 39 Reynolds Wrap sponsored Toyota will be driven by Knoxville short track ace Chad Finchum and the No. 75 Food Country sponsored Toyota will be driven by seasoned Abingdon Truck series veteran Caleb Holman.
Finchum will compete in at least four K&N East Series races for MMR in 2016 including Bristol next week, followed by New Hampshire, Iowa and Dover. He ran two races for McClure in 2015 at Iowa and Dover that ended with mechanical failures. But, in partnering with Henderson Motorsports and crew chief Chris Carrier, Finchum said he believes 2016 can be a breakthrough year for him.
Coming off of two consecutive top 10 finishes in his part-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series effort, Holman brings the complete package to MMR, as a seasoned mechanic and a proven driver. Having already won a race at Bristol in the old Hooters Pro Cup Series, Holman said he believes he’s got a winning car for next week at Bristol as well. This weekend's Pittlite 125 will be one to watch as David Gilliland's son, Todd will be going for his 5th straight win in 5 starts.
