After many tries and many attempts Kyle Busch finally won his first Camping World Truck Series Race at Martinsville. That was Saturday. On Sunday the driver of the #18 had the same drought in the Sprint Cup Series. On Sunday that drought got that one drop of rain it needed to be a flood and Kyle Busch went to Victory Lane for the first time in 2016. AJ Allmendinger finished a season best 2nd! Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon, and Brad Keselowski rounded out the Top 5. A race filled with hard racing and a few crashes ended with yet another thrilling finish!NASCAR News Source Driver of The Week
AJ Allmendinger did everything he needed to do today to be in the running for the Victory at the end. Despite not landing the Win, Allmendinger improved over much of his 2016 performance. When it comes to drivers who can drive tracks like these very well, tracks like Watkins Glen. Allmendinger almost found himself in victory lane for the 2nd time of his career but it came short. A win is coming soon for this one car team and I feel Sonoma is a pretty big chance! Also don't forget Bristol, another short track. Ready for some Duck Hunting? The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Texas Motor Speedway for the Duck Commander 500! Jimmie Johnson went 2-0 last year at Texas, can he win another one? Round 7 will be the first night race with the new rule package. Definitely will be one to watch as Texas is always!
