Gus Dean Returns at Talladega for Mason Mitchell Motorsports

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 14, 2016) – Officials from Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) announced today that GREE, the world's largest manufacturer of specialized Cooling & Heating Products, will back Gus Dean in the upcoming General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway Friday, Apr. 29.

Dean, 21, returns to MMM after making his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut at Daytona in the team’s No. 98 Chevrolet. Unfortunately, Dean’s series debut came to an abrupt end on the second lap after getting caught up in the “Big One.”

Seeking redemption in his Talladega debut, the Bluffton, S.C. driver is excited to return with the Mooresville, N.C.-based MMM team.

Gus Dean interview at Daytona 2016“I’ve never been so anxious to get behind the wheel of a race car,” said Dean. “We are focused on finishing what we started at Daytona. But, more importantly, I’m grateful to represent GREE and their partners for their first foray into motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series with Mason Mitchell Motorsports. The team has been awesome to work with and I’m confident we’ll be as fast, if not faster in a couple weeks.”

GREE will be joined by its master distributor for the US market, Tradewinds Climate Systems, as well as a number of their regional wholesalers, salespeople, and most importantly, fellow race fans. The company, which ranked 385th in Forbes' Global 2000, possesses 18,000 active patents for products sold in 160 countries.

“GREE and Tradewinds is very excited to be supporting Gus Dean, Mason Mitchell Motorsports and being involved in our ARCA Racing Series debut at Talladega Superspeedway,” said Tradewinds Climate Systems president Dave Pearson. “We look forward to attending the race and rooting for Gus as we hope he makes some “cool” moves towards Victory Lane.”

For Mason Mitchell Motorsports, team owner and 2014 ARCA Racing Series champion Mason Mitchell is thrilled to have another opportunity to work with Dean.

“Gus Dean has a lot of potential and I’m glad we’re going to get another shot at a superspeedway,” Mitchell said. “For never being in an ARCA car before the Daytona test last year, I was amazed how quick Gus was able to get comfortable and handle himself in the draft. When the race came around, I was confident as ever that Gus was more than capable of winning the race.

“The wreck on lap two was unfortunate, but we understand it’s part of racing. I was heartbroken for Gus more than anything. But now, we have a second chance together and Mason Mitchell Motorsports is more than prepared to finish what we started a few months ago with the support of GREE.”

In addition to GREE, Dean and MMM welcome Cab Installers back as a major associate marketing partner for the final restrictor plate race of the season. The S.C.-based company has been a longtime supporter of Dean and continues to follow his path as he attempts to reach the pinnacle of racing competition.

Like Daytona, Dean and MMM will carry an on-board camera giving viewers from home a unique prospective and view from inside the No. 98 GREE / Cab Installers Chevrolet.

The General Tire 200 Friday, April 29 is live on FS1. ARCAracing.com will feature live timing and scoring, plus live chat of all on-track activities.
