Four Wins in Eight Days, Kyle Busch Sweeps Texas

Not Just 1, Not Just 2, Not Just 3, but four wins in eight days for Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch took the lead from Martin Truex Jr. late in the race and drove away and landed his 4th win in eight days! Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished second, Joey Logano third, Jimmie Johnson and Chase Elliott rounded out the Top 5. Carl Edwards and Martin Truex Jr. both dominated the race but Martin Truex Jr.'s crew chief Cole Pern made a questionable call landing Truex in Shark infested waters. Truex would finish 6th. Edwards would also fall to 7th after dominating the race.

The NASCAR News Source Driver of The Week

After having to start the race from the rear of the field, Chase Elliott scratched and clawed his way through the field and had a majorly successful day in Texas. Elliott had qualified his Hendrick Motorsports machine fourth Friday at Texas Motor Speedway, but due to a transmission change he was relegated to a 40th place start. When the checkered flag flew for Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott landed his #24 Chevrolet SS in the 5th spot! Another sensational Top 5 by this Rookie Contender. This is his first Driver of the week honors.

Pick Four Driver Of The Week

Joey Logano finished in the 3rd position and became the Pick Four Driver this weekend. After Ryan Newman barely beat him last weekend, Joey gained the upper hand and is now tied with Ryan Newman in the 2016 Pick Four Championship Standings. Both drivers now have one pick and with Bristol coming up both drivers will be eligible for the Pick Four next weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway! Congratulations to Joey Logano!

Next Weekend

The Gladiators will roll into Bristol Tennessee for the Food City 500 and this will certainly be one to watch. Can Kyle Busch sweep another weekend or will someone else step up and end the dominance of Kyle Busch. Matt Kenseth is the defending winner of the Food City 500 after 2 years have been marred by Rain. Will 2016 be a washout like the last 2 years or will we finally see a wonderful Sunny Sunday Afternoon in Tennessee!
