New Manufacturers? - Top 3 That Fit in NASCAR

In 2008 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Kyle Busch would win at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in a Toyota for the first time. The begining of what is now an empire with a Championship and a Daytona 500 under its belt. With Brian France saying that numerous manufacturers are interested in joining NASCAR and it made me think what manufacturers would I personally would like to see in NASCAR and I honestly narrowed it down to 3 with one of them I would like to see return! Here are the Top 3 in my opinion I would like to see join the ranks in the NASCAR's Top 3 series!

Volkswagen

Many people do not want companies like this to come to NASCAR because it's an american sport and we want american vehicles in the sport. Well technically Chattanooga, TN proves that Volkswagen can be American Made as they make the Passat in my backyard. I think the Passat would be a neat car to add to the NASCAR lineup. I think that if Volkswagen joined the NASCAR lineup then we could add a more diverse fan base including with the Germans, who already read this blog a ton. Imagine seeing some of NASCAR's top teams fielding VW's instead of Toyota or another car make.

Dodge

In 2012 it was revealed about the new Generation 6 cars that would look a ton like the production car. That season Dodge won it's first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship since Richard Petty won it in 1975. Brad Keselowski would win his first title of his career but the Team Penske stable would announce a rebranding of Penske Racing along with the announcement of joining the Ford Stable. With no powerhouses grabbing Dodge it left the sport. I think it could return in the age of the charter with a driver like Robby Gordon or someone who has raced dodge's in the past.

Audi

According to recent comments from Matthew Dillner of NASCAR.com, Audi could be looking to joint Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota. Dillner believes the German manufacturer is preparing to enter NASCAR after hearing rumblings about such a move for a couple of years now. This would be a move that would surprise many as you expect such luxurious cars to join makes like Formula 1 and E along with Indycar and many others. If Audi was to join it would make it interesting and certainly give something for the sports car fans to cheer for.

What Has Been Said in the Front Office

Brian France was on SiriusXM Speedway with Dave Moody to talk about a variety of NASCAR topics. One of the things that came up was whether or not we would see a new manufacturer in NASCAR anytime in the near future. France seemed to be cautiously optimistic about the interest from outsiders in joining and the possibility of it happening in the “right” situation.
"There is some interest, and by a couple of different manufacturers and we would be open to that in the right conditions. I think a lot of the car companies are understandably looking at the terrific job that Toyota has done by partnering with NASCAR and the success and all the things that comes along with that. They’ve been an incredible success story for a car manufacturer looking to come into a sport that’s very difficult to come in, compete and win every weekend. But there’s an interest. And this is obviously the biggest opportunity in auto racing in North America."
