Ray Black Jr. - 5th At Daytona Highlights Amazing 2015

When the checkered flag fell in Homestead the flag fell on Ray Black Jr.'s 30th NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Start. 2015 was a season that had many successes for Ray in many different series. A full season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, his first full season, and one start at Texas in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driving for Rick Ware Racing. Ray landed 11th in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2015 with an average finish of 17th. For a Rookie in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series that is an impressive feat and certainly not something to over look in 2016. Ray began the season in the #07 Chevrolet Silverado for SS Green Light Racing, a team he ran for in 2014 in 7 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Races. With Backing from Scuba Life, a web-based network connecting professional dive instructors and water sport enthusiasts with retailers, hotels and restaurants.A sponsor that has been with Ray all throughout his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series career. In 2015
Ray proved to them that he could drive a truck very well beginning in Daytona. Yes that is Ray Black Jr. on the bottom of a Four Wide race coming to the Checker Flag in Daytona at the beginning of the year. That wild move not only was a nominee for The NASCAR News Source OMG Moment of The Year but also landed Ray his first Top 5 in his career. During the weekend in Daytona I had the opportunity to meet Ray Black Jr. A very nice guy and an even better racer in my opinion. I again met Ray in Bristol where he remembered who I was and I gave him a signed article I did about him on the ole' Low Money Team Source. From Daytona Ray stayed consistently inside the Top 20 with only two DNF's. That resulted in an 11th place in the points. At Texas Ray got the call to get the chance to drive an Xfinity Series car for the first time in his career. Though it was only one time in 2015 Ray will certainly be seen somewhere in the Xfinity Series for more starts in 2016. As for 2016 and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series we are unaware of what Ray will be doing. We hope to
see him back behind the wheel of the #07 SS Greenlight Racing. If Ray does return to SS Green Light Racing in 2016 certainly expect Ray to be right back in the swing of things and may even snag a win in the season opener in Daytona. (Koelle, 2016)
