Patrick Carpenter, Andrew Ranger, or Jacques Villeneuve Could Return to NASCAR in 2016

Two Road Course Races have a ride
open in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with Go Fas Racing. According to Le Journal de Montreal. Jeffery Earnhardt will run majority of the races behind the wheel of the #32 Ford Fusion. Bobby Labonte will race the Four Restrictor Plate Races at Daytona and Talladega, and one of these drivers will drive the car at the two Road Course Races at Watkins Glen and Sonoma. Canadates for those Rides include Patrick Carpenter, Andrew Ranger, and Jacques Villeneuve, all three drivers have experience behind the Wheel of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Car. Patrick Carpenter was last seen in NASCAR in 2012 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He drove for Robby Benton in Montreal. Carpenter ran a full NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season for Gillett Evernham Motorsports in 2008 but failed to Qualify in 5 races in that Season. He has one pole at New Hampshire in that Season.
The Second Canadate Andrew Ranger has one Sprint Cup Series start in 2011 driving for Bob Jenkins and Front Row Motorsports. Ranger is most known for winning the NASCAR Pinty's Series Championship in 2007 and 2009. Ranger also has won in the NASCAR K&N West and East Series along with 4 ARCA Racing Series Races.
The Final Candidate is Jacques Villeneuve. Many may know him from his past in NASCAR and well he has an aggressive racing style which is good at times. Jacques was last seen in NASCAR in 2013 where he drove the #51 for James Finch at Watkins Glen where he finished 41st. Jacques has also drove for Team Penske, Bill Davis Racing, and Braun Motorsports. Majority of Jacques wins came in F1 in 1996 and 97 where he won the Title in Formula 1 18 years ago,
These are the three candidates that are out there but you also got to put in account that David Ragan and Regan Smith are still without rides as of the first on 2016. Regan Smith won at Road America in 2015 so I would certainly not over look these drivers, any of them. (Koelle, 2016)

  1. Carpentier missed two races due to rain (qualifying cancelled), one due to a blown right front in qualifying, talladega (wide open in qual ). Bristol was the only one he missed on speed.
