Kentucky Speedway to Repave, Add Banking

When News was revealed late Tuesday Afternoon that the rough Kentucky Speedway would be getting a repave before the Series Race in July many drivers and fans expressed their displeasure with the track on the project. One of the oldest surfaces in the NASCAR Circut will be getting a revamp. And as I said many fans and drivers are very unhappy with this move because the bumpy surface gave the track character and without that character many fans are afraid that the track will turn into another cookie cutter race track owned by
NASCAR Hall Of Famer Bruton Smith. If you are looking for someone to bad mouth the repave or look at it negatively I am not that person. I honestly think that the track will get better with the repave and the adding of banking will almost make it like a combination of Michigan and Richmond. This combination will certainly add to the excitement and you will see speeds at almost 200 mph if not past that mark. Racing at Kentucky will be better and it will take time to learn again. Trust me Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch are probably the two most unhappy about this move as both have won more than one race at the track. With this repave it leaves Atlanta Motor Speedway with the oldest surface and I expect it to stay that way for many more years to come. (Koelle, 2016)
