When it comes to the Wood Brothers you can't help but think of the past of NASCAR and then think that this team will be around in the future. With Ryan Blaney behind the wheel many could see this team becoming the power house it once was with drivers like David Pearson among many others and becoming a Championship caliber team along with winning Rookie of the Year in 2016. With support from Team Penske the last 2 years you can certainly see it in the finishes during the weeks they do run. Though rain really hurt them in 2015. Being a Technical teammate with Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, and Michael McDowell really will help Ryan develope even more and who knows could land him in Victory Lane and in The Chase in his Rookie Season. Having those drivers as technical teammates can really help when it comes to races like Daytona and Talladega where you know you
can kind of trust them. Ryan has certainly proved he belongs in the sport and certainly brings a new meaning to when you hear the name Blaney. In 2011 Trevor Bayne won his first career race along with his first career Daytona 500 win, That win was really what put Wood Brothers back on the map and that's what gave Trevor Bayne his jumpstart to his career. Ryan Blaney, over the past 2 years of running part time schedules, has really put the Wood Brothers back to that level where everyone believes they can and they will win.
We are unaware on if Blaney will run any Truck or Xfinity Races in 2016 but if he does we will probably see him back in victory lane again. Now if McDowell stays as part time I could see him filling in for Blaney as the driver of the #22 for Team Penske in the Xfinity Series. Now the #1 question for Blaney is not if he will win but when will he win?
Be sure to tune into our next Team Spotlight where we will place the Spotlight on Hillman Racing and the #40 team! Also be sure to tune into the next New Kid on the Block at the beginning of February! (Koelle, 2015)
