Where Are They Now? - Part I - Drivers We Would Like to Hear From

In this new article series we will highlight drivers who have raced in NASCAR but we have not seen
or heard from them in a while. We hope to have some of the drivers reach out to us and maybe we can help them get back on track to a NASCAR Championship Career! If you see your name please email me at christiank9540@gmail.com! I am sure my readers would enjoy hearing where and what you are doing now!

Brian Ickler

We last saw Brian last year at Las Vegas where he finished 5th. Since we have not seen Brian in any sort of NASCAR Race Car or Truck. Brian had tons of potential just the fact that sponsorship was not there. He has raced for Kyle Busch Motorsports and Red Horse Racing in the Truck Series and made a few starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Roush Fenway Racing and Robby Gordon Motorsports. We would enjoy having Brian Ickler on a additon of From The Cockpit to maybe help get him a ride or some sponsorship!

Jason Bowles

The 2009 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Series Champion was last seen in 2013 driving for the Motorsports Group and driving in the Mudsummer Classic for Wauters Motorsports. I got the oppurtunity to meet Jason at Atlanta in 2012, that was the first race I had pit passes. I got to sit on his pit box during that race also thanks to my friend Dell Hamilton Jr.. I would love to see Jason back in the NASCAR Xfinity Series or even in the Trucks!

Scott Wimmer

Like the track he won at 2008 Scott Wimmer has not been seen around in NASCAR since 2011. Scott Wimmer was last seen in NASCAR driving in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series where he drove for Robby Gordon Motorsports. He also drove for Key Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2011. Since that year we have not seen Scott on TV nor behind the wheel of a NASCAR Stock Car. He was one of the few of these drivers who had multiple wins in his career that was extinguished a little to soon.

Drew Herring

Ok I know Drew Herring has raced this season but he is certainly one of those drivers who you wonder where he is now because he is barely in a race car. Drew is one of those drivers who could really impress someone by what he can do behind the wheel of a Race Car. He practiced and qualified the car for Erik Jones a few times in 2015 but he has not started a race since Homestead in 2013. He has just the same amount of potential that Erik Jones has he's just not there or has the opportunity to show it. He is certainly one of the top drivers who I would like to speak with in the near future! Maybe I can help him out in some way shape or form.

Chad Hackenbracht

Chad Hacken-something has not been seen in NASCAR since 2013 where he ran 7 races for Tri-Star Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and he also drove 4 races for Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2013. Chad has one of those names that would make him fit in NASCAR and he also has the Talent to go with the name. He has one of those personalities in the garage that makes him a stick for sponsors it is just the sponsors have not gotten the opportunity to show them who he is.

Tayler Malsam

Ok so you may remember Tayler from just a simple color. Most of his career he was always in a Green car sponsored by G-Oil. Tayler was last seen in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2012 where he drove the #19 for Tri-Star Motorsports where his best finish of 6th came at Daytona in February of 2012. Most recently we saw Tayler drive the #32 for the late Turner Scott Motorsports in 2013. Tayler's best finish came at Talladega where he finished 2nd in a wild finish. Since that season Tayler has not been seen in NASCAR for now almost two years. We would enjoy seeing him back behind the wheel and I am sure he would enjoy being back behind the wheel starting off where he ended.
