What Should Happen To Matt Kenseth

This was what happened yesterday in Martinsville. As Joey Logano was doing everything he needed to do to win his 4th race in a row lapped down car Matt Kenseth decided to take revenge on Joey Logano after a racing move back at Kansas during the Contender Round that ultimately put Matt Kenseth in a must win situation in order to move on with Logano to the Eliminator Round. This is questionable in many ways of how Matt Kenseth should be punished and as many view on if he should be punished. Below I will go over 2 incidents that has happened over the last few years and explain how those events are different from this particular incident yesterday and then I will address my personal opinion of what should be done and why it should be done.

Clint Bowyer vs. Jeff Gordon - Phoenix 2012

Many remember this incident from 2012 not by the on track action but what happened in the Garage after the incident. Both crews had confrontation in the garage and well that turned into a heated Clint Bowyer who had just looked like he took in like 15 bottles of his sponsor 5-Hour Energy on his way to have a little chat with Jeff Gordon. This incident ended with Jeff Gordon being fined $100,000, docked 25 points and placed on probation for the remainder of the season. This of course was back in the old chase syestem where the next race In Homestead really did not matter to these two. Oh yeah and notice behind Gordon is a yellow #20 driven by Joey Logano at the time kinda ironic ain't it.
This is different from yesterday's incident because as I said if Clint Bowyer wanted to seek revenge on Gordon it wouldn't really matter to either. With this new chase format Joey can still go into the final round of the Chase if he can win one of the next 2 races but who says Matt Kenseth won't do what he did yesterday at Texas or Phoenix and permanently eliminate Joey from the Championship Hunt? I'll give credit to everyone on both teams including Matt and Joey who did'nt want to turn the Martinsville Speedway into a WWE Ring like these guys did in Phoenix.

Kyle Busch vs. Ron Hornaday Jr. - Texas 2011

In 2011 Kyle Busch intentionally wrecked Ron Hornaday Jr after an incident on track that hurt Kyle Busch's run to the front. Ron Hornaday Jr was eliminated from the Title hunt in 2011 after this incident while that night Kyle Busch was parked by NASCAR not just for the rest of the Truck race but for the whole weekend. Denny Hamlin would race the #18 in place for Kyle in the Xfinity Series while At the time Joe Gibbs Racing Development Driver Michael McDowell would drive the #18 on Sunday. Kyle Busch would also be fined $50,000 and placed on probation. The Following weekend though Kyle Busch would be back behind the wheel of the #18 in all series.
True this is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series incident but it was still deliberate just like yesterday. If Matt Kenseth would have been able to continue he would have been Parked by NASCAR and that's about what they did with this incident.

Timeline Of Events Leading to The Fireworks

Kansas

To the right you will see the start of the Logano vs. Kenseth Rivalry at Kansas a few weeks ago. This was the finish that would ultimately send Matt Kenseth into a must win situation at Talladega. Out of this nothing. It was just Racing for the win and the refusal to lose by Joey Logano.

Talladega

Joey Logano accidentally cuts off Matt Kenseth on pit road. Joey Logano goes on to fight with Dale Earnhardt Jr for the Victory. Harvick triggers wreck behind them on FINAL Green White Checker Finish and Joey Logano Wins by mere inches sending Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr out of the chase. Kenseth very unhappy with Logano.

Martinsville

Matt Kenseth almost clears Brad Keselowski sending Kenseth into Kurt Busch. Matt and Team Fixes car and heads back out to gain more points. While being a couple Laps Down Matt Kenseth is about to be lapped by Race Leader Joey Logano. He decides to take out Joey Logano intentionally ending both drivers competitive day.

What Needs To Be Done

I feel that NASCAR Needs to Park Matt Kenseth for the remainder of 2015 because if you just suspend him for one weekend he may come back and attempt to retaliate again against Joey. Fine well NASCAR seems to be pretty good at numbers so they'll come up with something. Also take him out of the Chase Period. I know he's eliminated but I mean take him out so he doesn't finish 16th in points. I know many will review this as harsh but I feel what he did was harsh and as I've heard many fans what goes around comes around so prove that to Matt With a Harsh Penalty. I like Matt as a person but after this incident hes lost a ton of my respect. Mainly because he was laps down and didn't follow the Gentlemen agreement of letting the Leader pass when you are more than a lap down. This is strictly my opinion and I know you have yours but this is getting real pathetic of having a circus instead of Racing and going for the Championship. Now after the announcement lets move to Texas. The Past is the past we can change NASCAR's decisions. (Koelle, 2015)
