The NASCAR News Source End Of The Eliminator Round Discussion!

This season's chase has been one of the most talked about in the history of the Chase format and with it coming to an end next weekend in Homestead we will discuss everyone's chances of moving on to the final round at Homestead and discussing where their weaknesses are. Eight Drivers will enter Phoenix with a chance at still winning the Championship come next weekend in Homestead. Each driver really has a shot and at the bottom I will predict my own personal final four. On Tuesday of next week we will discuss the final four and I will ultimately make my prediction on the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship!

Jeff Gordon (1st/WIN)

Jeff Gordon will enter his final 2 races of his illustrious career in the next 2 weeks. Certainly will be an emotional Jeff Gordon who is already locked into the chase with a win. Jeff looks to continue the storybook ending of his career and trust me If Jeff does not win the title it will dampen Gordon but winning at Martinsville was a very emotional win in many ways but as we head to Homestead we begin to wonder on if Gordon would have won at Martinsville if Kenseth wouldn't have taken out Joey Logano and I honestly dont think he would have but I think Gordon would still go into Homestead in the Final Four by points. But Jeff has the win and will look to Homestead for championship number 5.

Kyle Busch (2nd/-2)

One of two diamonds Joe Gibbs Racing has in the Chase is Kyle Busch who picked up four wins in the Summer after returning from injury at the beginning of the season in an Xfinity Series race at Daytona. Though since his win at Indianapolis Kyle has not returned to victory lane. Kyle has shown consistency over the Chase which is something that we haven't seen out of Kyle in a long time. I feel Kyle could make the Final round of the Chase and possibly win the championship. Kyle has the talent and would certainly represent our sport as a champion very well as many of the other drivers. One big reason I would like to see Kyle Busch win the Championship is for his primary sponsor M&M's which is made local to me in Cleveland, TN. Kyle will certainly be a factor for the final for come Sunday.

Kevin Harvick (3rd/-3)

When they say Kevin Harvick feels at home at Phoenix they aren't lying. Kevin has won here 7 times in his career and is looking for his 8th come Sunday. Erik Jones proved Friday night that streaks can be broken and with Kevin Harvick just needing to have a good day look for Happy Harvick to keep his cool and don't do anything stupid like get himself behind. Harvick is the defending champion but the last time we had a back to back champion was last weekend's winner Jimmie Johnson in 2009 and 2010. Look for Harvick to be a threat at the end of the race and even a threat to back his title up from last season.

Martin Truex Jr. (4th/-6)

If you are a fan for the underdogs this is your driver. When it comes to consistency in the chase two names come to mind and they are Harvick and Truex both have had a cool, calm, and collective Chase. Truex has one win at Pocono earlier this season and well Phoenix is kind of like a triangle so look for Truex to be pretty good this weekend. Truex could be the one team that everyone did not expect to make the Final Four and does kinda like Ryan Newman last season  but by winning the Championship.

Carl Edwards (5th/-13)

Carl Edwards won the first race I attended back 10 years ago so I think it would be neat for him to win the championship this season. Carl has had consistency and has been conservative unlike the other Joe Gibbs Cars Carl has been the Dark Horse in the chase this year. He hasn't won since Darlington in September but has managed to keep his car in one piece and in the chase. Many believed that the first year slump at JGR would be possible but like he normally does Carl never disappoints. I feel that Carl could make it in with the recent consistency that he has been showing and it could land him holding the Championship for The First time in his career!

Brad Keselowski (6th/-25)

When it comes to drivers on a mission Brad is one of them. He was so close to locking himself in the final four last weekend by leading the most laps with the exception of the last. Brad has shown in the past that he can be that walk off winner and that's how his team is going into Sunday's race. With Paul Wolfe on the Pit Box Brad can win Phoenix. With that being said Brad does not have to win this weekend so could this mean we could see a Team Penske 1-2? I could see it and that is just what Team Penske is, A team. Brad could go against Gordon at Homestead but he certainly might have his Tag Team Partner behind him Team Penske could finish 1-2 in the Championship Points.

Kurt Busch (7th/-34)

Over this season Kurt has really matured a lot and has certainly earned the respect back from multiple people after the incident in 2014. Kurt, as of late has really shown the in the wrong place at the wrong time theory being involved in a wreck at Martinsville which placed him in this hole coming into Phoenix. I feel Kurt is hiding something and will unleash it come Phoenix when it comes time for Business to pick up.

Joey Logano (8th/-69)

If Joey Logano misses the Chase he can surely thank Matt Kenseth and I'm sure payback will come at Homestead if that happens but I dont see Joey missing the Final Four. Joey has 6 wins, the most of anyone in 2015. This is why I think Joey can pull off a victory come Sunday in Phoenix. He is the only driver who has to win. The thing that will help Joey get to the championship is the pure focus he has on winning that Championship. Joey Will Fight Come Sunday and When he gets to Homestead one way or another He Will Fight.

My Final Four

  1. Jeff Gordon
  2. Kevin Harvick
  3. Joey Logano
  4. Brad Keselowski
