Matt Kenseth Suspended For Next 2 Races

After this incident on Sunday in Martinsville one driver is left suspended from competition for two weeks.
Joe Gibbs Racing Driver Matt Kenseth has been suspended for the next two weeks after deliberately wrecking Joey Logano. This all began at Kansas 4 weeks ago when Joey Logano was racing for a victory and made contact with Matt Kenseth sending him in a spin cycle and ultimately putting Matt Kenseth into a must win situation at Talladega which ultimately led to Matt Kesneth being eliminated from the chase.
My opinion of the penalty is that it wasn't enough because of the fact that Matt Kenseth can come back at Homestead with Joey Logano in the Championship Four and could ultimately cost Joey Logano the championship.
As we hear Joe Gibbs Racing will appeal the penalty but I won't expect the appeal to be granted. Erik Jones, Daniel Suarez and a few other drivers are top candidates to drive the 20 in place for Matt Kenseth.(Koelle, 2015)

  1. I agree with Hamlin...bad call NASCAR. I look forward to an appeals process that points out the iniquity of Harvicks wreck at Talladega that was done purposely and this one. The proof is the same, situational facts only. There is no proof. NASCAR lost control a year ago when Newman intentionally wrecked Larson to advance to final. This penalty is wrong, NASCAR is wrong, and I think the blow back will be intense. Sounds like fun!
