The initial Appeal was denied and the penalties were upheld in rather quick fashion, Then JGR moved to the final appeal In where they had about the same results with the penalties being upheld.
Joe Gibbs Racing revealed that Erik Jones would be filling in for Matt Kenseth for the next 2 weekends at Texas and Phoenix. Erik of course will be racing his 3rd and 4th races of the season as he made his debut for an injured Denny Hamlin at Bristol then a few weeks later Erik made his official debut at Kansas filling in for Kyle Busch where before a late race crash he was
running in the Top 10. Erik will be attempting the triple this weekend as he is competing in the #4 Entry for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Truck Series and then he will defend his Xfinity Win at Texas driving the same car he did in May. Erik Got his first Truck win at Phoenix in 2013 and got his first Xfinity Win at Texas earlier this year. So be looking for Erik Jones to possibly steal a win from a cup driver come Texas or Phoenix, It will be practice for Erik as he will be moving over to the Xfinity Series next year full time, He is also in a heavy battle with Matt Crafton and Tyler Reddick for the Truck Series Championship.
