Joey Logano Flirting With History Today

Joey Logano could join an exclusive NASCAR club by winning today's Goody's Headache Shots 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Joey has won the last 3 races and looks to continue his dominance going into the eliminator eight.
Only 9 drivers have won 4 races in a row in their career and that list of drivers include Hall Of Famers and Future Hall Of Famers. Richard Petty was the first driver to do it in 1967. Cale Yarborough (1976), Darrell Waltrip (1981), Dale Earnhardt (1987), Harry Gant (1991), Bill Elliott
(1992), Mark Martin (1993), Jeff Gordon (1998) and Jimmie Johnson (2007), have all won four races in a row.
If Joey Logano could win his fourth race in a row he not only will join exclusive groups he will also lock himself into the Championship race at Homestead! In Joey's next victory he will move into a section with Ernie Irvan with 15 wins. 2 More wins and he will tie with his teammate Brad Keselowski with 17 wins. Joey is truly chasing history today so we will see if history can be rewrote with Joey not only winning tomorrow but also at Texas giving him 5 consecutive wins which is something that has
been unheard of in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series since Richard Petty did so in 1971 when he won 5 in a row!(Koelle,2015)
